Repurposed Doors

Don't give up on old or broken doors.  Give them new life.  Like most crafters I've fallen head over heels with re purposed furniture, pallets, doors and etc....  I was surfing Pinterest and came across some really cool ideas with old doors.  Take a look at these ideas I'm quite sure it will get your mind flowing and your body moving!  I have a door in my garage.  Yes, I know you may be thinking, "Who has an extra door in their garage?" I'm guilty! I purchased a new front door 5 years ago and never got rid of the old one.  I knew someday I would have a use for it.  Now the hard part will be choosing which of these ideas I want to try!

Are you planning a Bachelorette Party?

As a Maid of Honor and/or Bridesmaid it is your duty to make sure that the Bride has fun and relax before her big day.  So, what do you have planned?  First whatever you plan make sure the Bride will enjoy it.  Choosing a theme is a simple way to make that special day fun for the Bride.  There are so many great ideas to select from to create a special night. I have selected 5 ideas that I think are a lot of fun!  Keep in mind that you should adjust your selected theme to fit your Brides style and taste.

Idea #1 Wine & Dine
For the intellectual Bride, wine and cheese tasting is a great idea. This idea never goes out of style and your guest will have fun learning about wines and cheese, their origin and how you can pair the two.

Idea #2 Tea Time
For the romantic bride, an afternoon garden tea or coffee party. This event can be setup in a garden or by a pool.

Idea #3 Karaoke Night
For the Bride with a wild side! Does the Bride love to sing and dance? Take everyone out to a Karaoke bar or set up you own Karaoke machine, add drinks and sing and dance the night away!

Idea #4 Casino Night
For the Live in the moment Bride. You can rent a limo, van or car and go to the nearest casino.  To make it extra special reserve the VIP room or you can transform your living room.  If it fits in the budget take a girls trip to Vegas!

Idea #5 Spa Night
For the sweet and intimate Bride. If your Bride prefers small crowds rather than a big party. A day at the spa or a pamper party at home would be awesome!

Through the Eye's of Calvin Thomas

As a kid not everyone know what they will be when they grown up.  God gives some people talent as a child and their talent only get better as they get older.  Well, I have a friend from High School, Calvin Thomas who, I believe was born with a paint brush in his hand.  He made a plaque for me in the 11th grade which I still have.  It had such beautiful roses on it that my Granny took it from me and hung it up on her wall.  Well that was over 20 years ago and his artistic abilities have become remarkable over the years.  I have been following his work on Facebook for several years and just had to create a post featuring his work.  He is so talented that he isn't limited to just painting he have such a awesome eye for photography as well.  I'm so excited that he allowed me to post some of his work on my Blog!

Take a look at Calvin's amazing work.

Southern Style Homes

I've always had a fascination with beautiful old Southern homes.  If only their walls could talk they would have so many stories to tell.  I love how Southern homes stand so stoic and elegant, with beautiful porches, gorgeous greenery and landscaping surrounding an equally gorgeous house. Whenever you enter most Southern homes you will see blue & white dishes, silver, flowers, mirrors, lovely chandeliers, impressive staircases and family photos, just to name a few traditional Southern home décor. I don't own a Southern home but, I occasionally find myself adding traditional Southern Style in my home décor. I guess you just can't take the Southern Style out of the Traditional Girl!  I had to share a few pictures of beautiful Southern Style Home Décor!
